About US

Dr Carmen Montano  received her Medicine and Surgery Degree from the Universidad Libre in Colombia South America.

She then  completed a 3 year residency program in Internal Medicine at New Hanover Memorial Hospital  in Wilmington North Carolina and is Board Certified  in Internal Medicine in the  USA  .

She Moved to NM in 1992 and practiced as Primary Care Physician from 1992 to 2013.

Due to the epidemic   of Obesity and Diabetes, she developed interest in weight loss management and became a  Diplomate  in Bariatric Medicine.

“The advances in technology and medicines are helping us to live longer but we are not prepared to look older”

As a result of living longer, the aging  population  continues  being active in the workforce for longer years.

Older  folks  need to compete and present  themselves  with a vibrant look  for  job interviews.

Trying  to  fulfill  these needs,  Dr Montano attended numerous Aesthetic Medicine  courses throughout  the United States, some of them  with the world famous plastic surgeon Dr Joseph   Niamtu.

She also attended the  first  International  Congress on Longevity Medicine and Aesthetic Procedures in Geneva, Switzerland

Dr Montano  opened  her Aesthetic Medical Procedures practice in 2008 and  continued  the practice of Internal Medicine as a Primary Care Physician.

When she retired from Primary Care, she expanded her Aesthetic  Medicine practice, but, not ready to give up  her  Extensive experience  in Internal  Medicine, she started   consulting for  Hospice patients and now she is also a  Board Certified Hospice Medical Director.

By combining both practices, she accomplishes both goals: she  relieves the pain of the terminally ill patients and relieves the emotional stress that some “aging” conscious people develop, by improving the looks and self esteem of those who finally understand …that taking care of their skin and their looks is not only vanity,  but rather a legitimate desire to feel  better with themselves  in order  to   face the world.
